Any time violence creeps into the beautiful game of football it is always a shameful sight to behold. It was exactly the case in Nembe, Bayelsa State, when fans of the home team Bayelsa Queens attacked Sunshine Queens FC players, even after the home side won the match 1-0.

According to reports, fans of the home team were angry at the excellent performance of the visiting team’s goal keeper, Elizabeth Johnson, who made some great saves to prevent her team from losing with a wide margin. The fans singled her out to be beaten after the match.

During the game the fans had been hatching their evil plans to deal with the players of Sunshine Queens if they succeeded in preventing the home side from winning the match. Despite the home side victory the fans still went ahead with their plans by beating the away team and injuring most of them including the goal keeper Elizabeth Johnson, who sustained injuries on the head was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.
