The Operatives of the Police Command in Aba has arrested a landlord, Ogbonnaya Igwe for allegedly shooting dead his tenant Ijeoma Chibuzo.
The state police public relations Geoffrey Ogbonna who confirmed the arrest, said that the victim’s body was deposited in an undisclosed mortuary within the city.
He also disclosed that an investigation into the matter was still
ongoing, and the preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and
the deceased were having problems related to finance.
The landlord who resides at Plot 22, Obohia Road, Aba and the
deceased are indigenes of the Bende Local Government Area of the state.According to a different police source, also disclosed that it took the combined effort of the security team from the Counter-Terrorism Unit and others positioned in Obohia to stop the suspect’s building from being set ablaze by an angry mob.
