Chelsea football club confirms Lampard as manager

                   

Chelsea Football Club have confirmed former midfielder Frank Lampard as the club’s new manager on a three-year contract.

The 41-year-o                                                                                                                                               ld was given permission to speak to Chelsea by Derby County - who he managed for just a single season - as the Blues looked to replace Maurizio Sarri, who left after one year to join Italian champions Juventus.

 Lampard, who is Chelsea’s all-time record goalscorer, said "I am immensely proud to be returning to Chelsea as head coach.

 " Everyone knows my love for this club and the history we have shared, however, my sole focus is on the job in hand and preparing for the season ahead"
