NiMet predicts 60% chances of more rains in 2018

 its first rain of the year.

The rain started at about 7:40 pm in some area and lasted for between 10 minutes and 15 minutes in some streets.

The rain fell in Moore, Lokore, Oke-Ogbo, Iloro, Ondo road among others.

Some streets, including Oke-Atan, Opa, Sabo, Igboya, Aba-Iya-Gani, Ile-funfun, Ilare, Road-Seven Oduduwa street, Iremo, Enuwa among others are still hoping for their rain.

The rain was heavy in some area and fell without storm.

Mrs Bisi Olayemi, who resides at Igbotapa area of Ile-Ife, described the rainfall as a welcome development.

“I am so glad to witness the first rain of the year; the weather has not been so friendly for some time now.

” And I believe the rain will usher in a more favourable weather,” she stated.

Mr Abiodun Olayemi, said that the prevailing dusty weather would soon give way.

The rain serves as a signal to farmers begin land clearing. (NAN)
